Now living in Wyoming, Gregg received his Associate of Arts degree from Illinois Valley Community College, Oglseby, Illinois, and is a member of the Society of Animal Artists and the American Society of Artists. A popular participant in Art Shows across the United States, Gregg's most recent recognitions include: 1997 Best in Show (scratchboard) - National Wildlife Art Show, Overland Park, Kansas; 1997 and 1999 Best of Show - Silver Springs Wildlife Art Show in Florida; Peoples Choice Award - Michigan Wildlife Art Show-West, Grand Rapids, Michigan; 1990 Merit Award - Western and Wildlife Art Show, Minneapolis, Minnesota; 1990 2nd Place Peoples Choice Award - Grand Rapids, Michigan; 1991 Best in Category - Oklahoma Wildlife Festival, and 2000 Artists Choice Award at Callaway Gardens Celebrate the Arts Show in Georgia. |

In 1991 Gregg was commissioned by Sea World of Orlando, Florida to create all the 2-dimensional art for their new exhibit MANATEES The Last Generation. The next time you go to Sea World, as you enter the manatee exhibit, look up!
Gregg's work has appeared in such publications as Sports Afield, Florida Wildlife, Ducks Unlimited, U.S. Art, and Wildlife Art News. He also contributes his time and talents to such conservation groups as the National and Florida Wildlife Federations. He created the Florida organization's "Art for Alligators" print, used to support funding for alligator research.
| "Life itself, as I see it, is a wonderful challenge. I'm challenged by the the essence and beauty of the natural world, and within that realm, I see a place for me to express myself through yet another challenge...rendering my interpretation of it all through the scratchboard medium. It's within this "niche" that I feel most at peace. I want my art work to stand for something. It's my way of paying back nature for the inspiration and joy it's given to me. |
